Overweight women do face higher c-section rates than do those who are of average weight… how scary must that feel for an overweight woman! To be constantly worried about your weight before pregnancy to then have it bite you in the rear with the risks that go along with weight…. My name is Samantha Mehaffey, I'm a wife and a mother of five. My husband served in the Military for 8 years and during that time I birthed two of my five children and served a few people as a volunteer doula, now he is working in the civilian world and we've added a third and fourth and fifth child (all born at home).
